ILP #2 "Design"

For my ILP #2, I used the website Canva and designed a class schedule. For my schedule, I used a first grade curriculum. I put the time the class begins and when it ends. The schedules are not the same everyday, but are similar day to day. This website has great templates for teachers to use. I wanted to design a class schedule because it is helpful for teachers and students to have their schedule printed out and displayed before them. Also, I liked the simplicity but appeal of the colors and design. https://www.canva.com/design/DACoP4nmYu0/share?role=EDITOR&token=gkwUcpPnDp8y-vzjtVNtXw&utm_content=DACoP4nmYu0&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=sharebutton

Blog Post 10

For me, I want to teach younger students, like Kindergarten through second grade. When using Excel tools, it will be helpful for me to track students and their reading levels. For example, if I want to check a student's progress on how many words they can read per minute, every month or so I can count the number of words they read per minute and record them. After a few recordings, I can see if the student is improving, staying the same, or not improving. Also, instead of just tracking one students reading skills, I could track my whole class's reading skills and find the average number of words the students can read per minute, and then keep doing this throughout the school year to see if by the end of the school year they are reading more words per minute. I think that my favorite blog post was the one where we had to incorporate our websites that we created. Everyone had so many different styles and tastes, as well as grade levels and subjects. I loved getting to look at ev...

The Flipped Classroom refers to a delivery model that us currently used in grades K-12. This approach began when they began making lectures available to absent students and expanded to flipping the way that students and their teachers spend time in the classroom. Instead of students coming to class and listening to their teacher lecture and then doing homework on the content of that lecture, the students instead will listen to a pre-recorded video lecture for their homework before coming to class. In this model, what traditionally happens in the classroom is now pre-recorded and and delivered as homework outside of the classroom by technology. Thus, this makes students go from being passive listeners to active listeners. I had never heard of this model before, but after learning about it, I see how this can be helpful. It is super stressful as a student to go into class, focus on writing down notes about the lecture while also participating. With this model, it eliminates a lot of stre...
